sometimes shopping sucks

this is why:

1. the people at those kiosks in the mall are becoming more and more aggressive. no i DON'T want to get a massage in the middle of the mall. no i am NOT interested in a dream catcher. no i am HAPPY with my cell phone service.

2. vanity sizing. okay, i've lost a couple of pounds, but there is no way in hell that i am an extra small. yes, i like my clothing to be, er, snug, but i have field hockey shoulders and my merch is ample. so when i go in to try on a top and the medium is too big, the small is still to big, well, i just give up. i am not going back out into the store from the dressing room to get an extra small shirt. i guess that makes me more lazy than vain.

3. hot topic. the most sickening commodification of punk rock and alternative culture. plus the weird guy working there pulled down his PANTS to show me his tattoo that started at his hip bones and went down from there. sure, a glimpse at some 20 year old boy's pathway to paradise sounds heavenly, but, this experience was downright strange.

4. the mean lady at the dressing room at target. don't fuck with her and for god's sake, when you bring 5 items in, you best bring out 5 items. on their hangers.

but there are happy things about shopping.

1. i have been carded TWICE in the past two days. it's great except my license is expired, meaning some 17 year old might actually deny me my beer.

Tone deaf

It seems I am not tone deaf. Somehow I managed to score over 80% on this test.

Be forewarned, it takes a couple of minutes, and you kind of have to pay close attention.

i can still procrastinate if i want to!

I have cut myself off from Myspace. For 100 different reasons. The most important is that I can be slightly obsessive. Big surprise huh? And there is nothing less productive then refreshing my home page 1000 times a day to see if I have any emails or if any of my friends have posted new blogs.

But my work is isolating. Sometimes the only people I talk to during the day are my bagel ladies. And don't get me wrong, I love them, but it's not quite the social interaction I need.

So I'll use this as an outlet. Because God forbid I not post this insane video for all my friends to see:
